Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge Plein Air Paint Out

Join us for a serene brush with nature at our Plein Air Painting Event at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge! Embrace the beauty of the outdoors as you capture the scenic vistas on canvas.

Dates: June 15th and 16th during daily hours.

Registration: 9 AM to noon each day.

Show off your masterpiece at our Gallery Event on June 20th, located at the Sam Plots in Uptown North Main Building, Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Cash prizes await! Win $300 for the adult division and special categories for painters aged 18 and under. Let your creativity flourish amidst Michigan's natural wonders!

Rules and Guidelines

-Open to all artists

-Adult and Youth (18 & under) division

-The cost to enter the competition is free

-Works in all paint media are eligible.

-Artists supply their own canvases.

-Canvases no wider than 36”

-Only original works completed on June 15-16

-All art works must be started and finished on location.

-Before painting, each artist’s blank canvas will require a personalized Frankenmuth Arts Council stamp. Registration is on-site 9am-12pm each day

Wednesday, August 17 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

-All artwork must be ready to hang.

-works must be framed or gallery wrapped thick canvas.

-Completed artwork is to be delivered to the Sammelplatz on:

Wednesday, June 19 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM

-The first place award of $300 will be announced at the on Thursday, June 20.

-All artists will have the option to sell their work at the gallery showing. Sales during this time will be split 70% to the artist and 30% to Frankenmuth Arts Council.

-Paintings may be picked up following the event
